By Jeffrey R. Ballares
(Poem)
Standin’ by the edge on an empty street
Is me wearing a deep-black sorrow
Every glance… every chance…
Oh what I have done?
I have carried a veil of absolute melancholy
For I am a sinner? Shamefaced!
And emotions have risen full
As if I have made them fool!
Time passed by as a zephyr
Shifting gloomy room…
It feels like doom!
I have cried a billion tears
Reaching a momentum, shaping my soul.
But as I walk through the valley of dawn
Is me staggering back to the edge of the empty street
I found them all smiling at me
And I know…I know
